Memorials may be given in Carl’s name for the Wisconsin Humane Society-Door County Campus (3475 Park Drive, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235). Visitation for family and friends will be held at Huehns Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. Carl will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery in the Town of Sevastopol. Military honors by the United States Navy and the AMVETS Weber-Tess Post 51 will follow at the funeral home.

Carl also liked to go camping in South Dakota. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing on the water (anywhere) and deer hunting with ten other friends who would make the annual trip up north to the hunting shack in Cedar in Iron County. When Carl “retired”, he spent time patrolling Maxwelton Braes Golf Course in Baileys Harbor as a (course) ranger and playing golf when he could.Īs a veteran, Carl was a member of the Weber-Tess AMVETS Post 51 in Sturgeon Bay. He attended Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College in Sturgeon Bay to study blueprint reading and pipefitting prior to going to work for Palmer Johnson Yachts as a pipefitter for thirty-four years. Carl was patrol officer for the Sturgeon Bay Police Department for a few years. He then went to work for Milwaukee Shoe downtown Sturgeon Bay for two years. in Sturgeon Bay eleven years where Mary also worked. He initially worked for Amity Leather Co. Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay where remained Carl remained a member throughout his life. They were engaged in December that year and then united in marriage on Apat Mary’s home church of St. He met Mary Sylvia Neinas at (the former) Coyer’s (tavern) in Idlewild in August of 1959. Upon his discharge, Carl returned home to Sturgeon Bay. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on Jand remained on Reserve status until March 31, 1961. Carl was stationed on the USS Vogelgesang (DD 813).

He graduated from SBHS in 1954 and remained with the Naval Reserves until entering into active duty with the Navy on June 19, 1957. Anticipating he would serve his country in the military, Carl enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves during his junior year at Sturgeon Bay High School in 1952.
